The Eraserheads

ei e-heads fanatics! your fave 90's icons will be having their one night only concert this august! a dream come true reunion concert! relive the eheads fever!

below is an article from titikpilipino.com

"All original members of the Eraserheads (Ely Buendia, Raimund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro) will reunite for a much awaited and highly anticipated one-night-only concert to be held on August 30, 2008 at the CCP Open Grounds.

The band was formed in 1989 during their college years in the University of the Philippines. Original members comprised of Ely Buendia on vocals, Raimund Marasigan on drums, Buddy Zabala on bass and Marcus Adoro on guitars. The Eraserheads released hit after hit and eventually dominated the local music scene in the '90's and enjoyed mainstream success for the entire decade.

The band became to be one of the most successful, critically-acclaimed, significant bands in the history of Original Pilipino Music.
A lot of their original compositions became hit the top charts such as "Ligaya", "Pare Ko", "Toyang", "Ang Huling El Bimbo", "Alapaap", "With A Smile", "Magasin" and "Fruitcake" to name a few.

However in 2002, the Eraserheads disbanded and went their own separate ways.

Having released over a dozen albums and several award-winning songs during their time, the Eraserheads' songs were further immortalized as Sony BMG music released succeeding Eraserheads-themed albums, which led to a new generation of aficionados of the Eraserheads sound.

In 2004, Sony BMG Music released an "Eraserheads Anthology" album containing most of the hits of the band on a two disc set. In the following year, the same label released "Ultraelectromagneticjam: The Music of the Eraserheads" with popular OPM artists such as 6cyclemind, Barbie Almalbis, Sugarfree, Kitchie Nadal, Spongecola, Imago, South Border and FrancisM, rendering their own versions and styles of the Eraserheads hits. The popularity of the Eraserheads led to 2nd Anthology release entitled "Eraserheads, Anthology Two" in 2006.

Despite the breakup, all four musicians were still visible in the music scene with their own respective bands. Ely Buendia became vocalist for the group Monggols and was later renamed Pupil when one of their members left. Raimund Marasigan became involved in several bands and groups, among them being Sandwich, Pedicab, Cambio, Squid9 and Project 1. Buddy Zabala also joined Raimund Marasigan in Cambio, and became part of Twisted Halo. He later joined the 80's rock group "The Dawn". Marcus Adoro disappeared in the music scene and moved to La Union. A few years after, Marcus later reemerged with a new album with his band "Markus Highway". Aside from their musical affiliations, all original members were also involved in different musical projects and collaborations with other artists.

Even if all four original members were active in the local music scene, there have been several online petitions, discussions and the clamor of the general public for the Eraserheads to reunite and perform once again. Various rumors have been spreading speculating a possible return of the Eraserheads. Currently, the concert is a one-night-only reunion concert. No details have been publicized yet of the bands' future plans after the concert.

For all Eraserheads fans, this is a dream come true as the four will perform once again live on August 30, 2008."
